‘Partition: 1947’ Promises to be Film Narrating People’s Trauma During Indian Partition [VIDEO]

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata 6th August, 2017: In a promotional event team “Partition: 1947” interacted with the press at Golden Tulip Hotel in Kolkata. The film starts Huma Qureshi, Late Om Puri, Manish Dayal, Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson and Michael Gambon. Huma Qureshi was present in the press conference flooded with various media houses including TNI. The film is an International venture coming from the Director Gurinder Chadha.
She is famous for her earlier hits like Bhaji on the Beach, Bend it like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging etc. ‘Partition: 1947’ shows the time of partition when India and Pakistan became two independent countries. The film narrates the story of the trauma that people went through due to the division, and how it changed their life. For Huma Qureshi, it’s her international debut.
While talking to TNI she said “I have put my heart and soul in the moving tale of the India-Pakistan partition. I play the role of Aalia, a Muslim woman, falling for a Hindu Boy, Jeet (Played my Manish). Our life gets ripped apart as borderlines are redrawn”.
